BANGKOK - An exclusive new partnership between the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) and Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) will provide Queensland tourism businesses with access to the latest Asia-Pacific visitor research.

The partnership will empower tourism businesses with access to a world first exclusive online visitor data, TEQmPower. The new TEQmPower platform aggregates data from key source markets and enables for on-demand, immediate insights to allow for faster, smarter decision making.

PATA CEO Martin Craigs said, “PATA is very proud to be partnering with Tourism and Events Queensland in developing TEQmPOWER, which will enable businesses to access data and make analytic-based decisions to improve their competitive advantage. This is an excellent showcase of how organisations can build upon PATA’s existing research and insights, which is in line with PATA NextGen initiatives.”

This new paradigm in tourism data research provides a clearer understanding into current and future trends, assisting stakeholders to better determine key market performance. For the first time TEQmPower gives the industry the means of viewing key research and data in a format that is clearly recognisable and easily understood. The ability to have instant information, on demand, offers a clear advantage as it enables Queensland stakeholders to continually update their own business plans and activities to ensure they capitalize on changing market conditions.

Minister for Tourism, Major Events, Small Business and the Commonwealth Games, Jann Stuckey, said, “TEQmPower provides tourism businesses with access to the latest visitor trends and developments in the Asia-Pacific region, enabling operators to make informed decisions and facilitate effective target marketing.”

TEQ Chief Executive Leanne Coddington noted that TEQ was proud to partner with PATA, delivering on its goal to provide tourism research and insights to industry to inform strategic decision-making.

“TEQ is the first state tourism organisation in the Asia-Pacific region to partner with PATA to deliver this technology to operators,” said Ms Coddington. “TEQmPower will provide an overlay of Queensland international visitor data alongside PATA’s Asia-Pacific visitor trends, providing industry with a one-stop-shop for the latest visitor insights affecting their destination.”
