BANGKOK Accor confirmed Wednesday the opening of the Lake Garden, Nay Pyi Taw, the newest member of the MGallery Collection and the first Accor hotel in Myanmar.
The newly-built hotel is located in the political capital of Nay Pyi Taw located close to a lake and just a five-minute drive from Myanmar International Convention Centre (MICC). It takes just 20 minutes to transfer to Nay Pyi Taw International Airport.
“This hotel opening will officially mark Accor’s return to Myanmar,” said Accor chief operating officer Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines, Patrick Basset. “This opening comes at a time when the capital is seeing an influx of visitors with a strong demand for an upscale accommodation with international standard facilities.”
MGallery is a collection of distinctive, upscale hotels categorised according to three themes – signature, heritage and serenity. Lake Garden fits the “Serenity” category.
The hotel has four low-level buildings and 165 rooms and suites – two Presidential Suites, eight executive suites, 30 deluxe suites, 64 deluxe rooms and 61 superior rooms.
It also has meeting facilities that can accommodate up to 250 delegates, six breakout meeting rooms for small-to-medium size functions, and two state-of-the-arts boardrooms.
To celebrate its opening, Lake Garden is offering a special introductory rate starting from USD90, valid until 29 October 2014.
