HotelQuickly starts up in Thailand

BANGKOK HotelQuickly, a last minute online hotel booking application is spreading its wings to reach Thailand’s holiday consumers.
HotelQuickly introduced itself at a press briefing 1 October, in Bangkok claiming it has a network of consumers using its free application throughout Asia Pacific
HotelQuickly’s co founder and CFO, Mario Peng and country manager Thailand, Abhinav Kumar, position the hotel booking app as a consumer’s last gasp opportunity to secure heavily discounted deals that are on average 28% cheaper than what hotels are promoting on their own websites or through third party vendors.

It caters to the last-minute crowd of bookers who wait until the 11th hour to snatch a room bargain. Until the advent of apps and specialised websites catering to late bookers, last-minute deals were not available directly to consumers.
The app claims to have users in more than 120 destinations in Asia-Pacific and its selling point for consumers is based on undercutting the best rates online; “disrupting traditional booking channels in a highly competitive industry”.
Its sales message will not be welcomed by large hotel chains that are attempt to push business through their websites offer the best rate guarantees.
HotelQuickly did not explain how it secures rates 28% below third party vendors.
HotelQuickly is available in six languages and features more than 3,500 hotels.
It is currently available in Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. The free app is available for Android, iPhone, and BlackBerry 10 devices.
Users who share the app with friends can earn nights for free. For each friend that books with HotelQuickly for the first time, a user will receive a 15 USD credit. The more friends who book, the more free nights for users.
