High season in Krabi, Thailand will be record-breaking

Krabi Province, along the southwest coast of Thailand, is gearing up for a record-breaking high season beginning in November 2014 and ending in April 2015.

Krabi has continued to attract more and more tourists each year looking to vacation on its beautiful beaches, and it appears this year will break all preceding records.

Why is Krabi attracting so many tourists?
Krabi is attracting many more tourists each year because the hospitality and airline industries are responding to visitor demand for more places to stay, and for more flights into the area.

Well-known international hotel consortiums have invested in building first-rate lodgings, including the 206-room Ibis Styles opening in Ao Nang in October of this year. In addition, there are more boutique resorts and private villa rentals offering accommodations with a host of amenities.

In the past, Krabi tourism was largely based on visitors from Scandinavia and other European countries. Now Krabi attracts visitors from Malaysia, Singapore, China, India and Indonesia. With this increase in tourist demand, airline companies have risen to the occasion by creating new routes to and from Krabi's relatively new Krabi International Airport.

Most recently, AirAsia announced a new route that will connect mainland China with Krabi, with flights originating in Guangzhou. This is in addition to flights they added last year flying into Krabi from Singapore and Chiang Mai.

Beginning December 10, 2014, Finish airlines Finnair will schedule flights to Krabi. Malaysian airlines Firelfly, will do the same. Other airlines providing direct round-trip flights to Krabi from other locations include Tiger Airways, AirAsia, Malaysia Airways, and Bangkok Airways.

Charter flights from Russia, Europe and China are increasing, and Tiger Airways, a low cost carrier, now has flights from Australia.

Modern healthcare and great shopping makes Krabi more attractive
A new modern international hospital, Krabi Nakharin, opened earlier this year. A first-rate medical facility in the area had been needed for a long time. Previously, the most modern facilities were located in Phunket and Bangkok, a far way to travel in case of a medical emergency. The new hospital attracts retirees and other travelers who have more time to spend on vacations, because they feel comfortable having access to good medical care.

Krabi has long been a delightful place to shop; however new malls are being built and the expanding Premium Outlet Village is offering even more places for tourists to purchase merchandise.

Krabi Riviera Villas offer beautiful private rental homes
The leading villa management company, Krabi Riviera Co., Ltd., offers six new vacation rental villas, three of which are built on private beaches. One of the reasons their villas have been so popular, is because of their proximity to Ao Nang, Krabi's main tourist center. It is only a five- minute drive.

"To satisfy the demand for beachfront villa rentals," said Pierre-Yves Loriers, managing director of Krabi Riviera Villas Company, "we've invested in three properties that are guaranteed to enchant our guests. One such holiday rental is Amatapura Beach Villa 1, an outstanding home sitting right on the beach."

Amatapura 14 is a stunning example of private beach home luxury at its finest. Sitting on the Ao Nam Mao coast, it is perfect for large families or friends' get-togethers. It has five bedrooms that can accommodate up to ten people, a fully equipped modern kitchen, a dining area, a spacious living room and a lovely fenced in garden.

"In addition to sitting right on the beach," Ton explained, "Amatapura 14 also has its own private saltwater swimming pool. You just can't get any better than that."

A concierge is available 24/7 to arrange for private island-hopping trips by boat that leave directly from the guests' beachfront villa. The concierge can also arrange for all transportation, including car or motorbike rental, or use of Krabi Riviera's tuk-tuk service to travel to and from nearby Ao Nang.

Travelers can make direct bookings in ten different languages on Krabi Riviera's website, which allows for secure online payment with PayPal or major credit cards, with instant confirmation.

With such modern conveniences and accommodations available in Krabi Province, not to mention its beautiful beaches and fascinating culture, it should not be a surprise that Krabi is quickly finding its niche as a jewel in Thailand's tourist industry.
