Harmony World Puppet Carnival fills Bangkok with vibrant colours of puppetry arts

BANGKOK - Thailand opened its doors to the world of magical puppetry arts in November for the annual Harmony World Puppet Carnival. This 10-day celebration lasts from 1-10 November, and sees more than 160 troupes of talented puppeteers from 80 countries taking part.

The puppet carnival is now in full swing at several venues around Bangkok. The annual event will conclude on 10 November with the award’s presentation and closing ceremony to be held at the National Theatre.

This year’s opening ceremony took place at Sanam Luang in Bangkok’s old quarters or Rattanakosin Island, with the event’s signature parade marching from the Ratchadamnoen Contemporary Art Centre on Ratchadamnoen Road to the main stage at Sanam Luang.
