Malaysia hosts ASEAN Explore Quest

KUALA LUMPUR Tourism Malaysia is hosting the second annual ASEAN Explore Quest Malaysia programme from today through to 21 November to raise awareness for Malaysia MYFEST 2015 campaign.
A total of 100 participants from 10 ASEAN countries, comprising of celebrities, media and tour agents, join an “Amazing Race” type event that will see them journey through Malaysia, while attempting a variety of challenges like games, cultural activities and visits to Malaysia’s best tourist destinations.
The journey will cover Kuala Lumpur, Negeri Sembilan, Johor and Penang, starting in the capital this Friday.
inside no 1Adding a touch of glamour to the event the organisers have persuaded former Miss World Malaysia 2008 and singer Soo Wincci, Miss Myanmar International 2014 Khin Wai Phyo, Thai singer-actress-model Ying Kanyapatch, Indonesian actress Mytha Lestari, and Vietnamese singer-actress Nguyen Thi Phoun to participate in the programme and entertainment.
Devised by Tourism Malaysia, the so-called Amazing Race will help to promote Malaysia in neighbouring ASEAN countries by leveraging on the popularity of the celebrities and the power of social media.
It will also help tp raise awareness of Malaysia Year of Festivals (MyFEST 2015) and boost the promotion of the country’s tourist destinations through their social media following and fan clubs.
A press conference and dinner to introduce ASEAN Explore Quest participants will be hosted Friday evening at the Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur.
More than 12.8 million tourists visit Malaysia from neighbouring ASEAN countries making the region the country’s top source of visitors.
