Italics is the latest collaboration between Thailand’s boutique hotel pioneer, AHMS, and Singapore-based property developer Manor Group.
The Singapore firm, headed by John Lim, comprises of Manor Studio and a property, hotel development and investment arm, which recently set up Manor Group (Thailand) to oversee both projects and streamline the partnership.

“AHMS has had many successful years building resorts based around innovative experiences and exceptional cuisine,” Anchalika explained. “I have full confidence that Italics will be a success both as an eatery in Bangkok and as the star attraction of akyra Manor Chiang Mai, with further outlets under the newly-created brand a possibility.”
“The juxtaposition of the cuisine itself and the concept of Italics are expressed by the two-dimensional frames of each area in the restaurant whereby different scenarios are depicted, and also via inserting photographs of local Thai people, such as a local Thai with coffee, or a farmer on his farmland, and so on.”
Italics at akyra Manor Chiang Mai will be the hotel’s flagship dining experience, boasting a state-of-the-art show kitchen and authentic Italian pizza ovens, complemented by a show-stopping rooftop pool bar, Rise.
The hotel is a five-star, 30 all-suite luxury hotel, with 23 suites at 610 sq ft and seven larger suites at 1050 sq ft created around a ‘courtyard-within-a-room’ concept.
