Accor has taken another step along its expansion path in Myanmar, with the opening of its first Novotel in the country.

The Novotel Inle Lake Myat Min is a brand new property located on the banks of the famous lake, in northeast Myanmar’s Shan State. Its launch follows Accor’s recent debut in the country, when it opened an MGallery hotel in the capital, Nay Pyi Taw.

“We are excited and proud to introduce the first Novotel in Myanmar at this serene destination of Inle Lake,” said Patrick Basset, Accor’s chief operating officer for Accor Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar & the Philippines.

“This hotel will redefine the concept of Novotel’s resort hotels and showcase the brand’s renowned quality, modernity and comfort. With the opening of this resort, we aim to entice more discerning travellers to visit this beautiful natural attraction.”

Novotel Inle Lake features 122 rooms, suites and villas on the east bank of the lake. Facilities include two restaurants, a swimming pool with pool bar, fitness centre and spa. The resort also offers boat excursions on the lake.

Accor is now planning to expand its footprint further across Myanmar, with a pipeline that includes new Novotels in Yangon and Mandalay and Pullman and Sebel properties in Yangon.
