Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium unveils an all new look

SINGAPORE - The 512-room Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium has launched a revamped lobby interior, refurbished guest bedrooms and all-new dining concepts to offer guests a more modern and contemporary experience.

Inspired by Singapore’s historical identity, the new design concept embodies the spirit of the iconic Singapore River throughout the lobby and its revamped guest bedrooms. Lining the lobby atrium are dual-coloured fins inspired by the shutters of shop houses along the Singapore River, whilst a feature wall at the reception showcases a contemporary unification of an abstract map-work of the Singapore River and its current surrounding developments.

Guest can now check-in to refurbished bedrooms that feature a modern and contemporary interior design inspired by the iconic Singapore River close by. Both business and leisure travellers can stay relaxed and be minutes away from Singapore’s Central Business District and some of the city’s popular attractions such as Orchard Road, Chinatown and Clarke Quay.

Complementing the shop house charm is Atrium Restaurant. The hotel’s new all-day dining venue, formerly known as Melting Pot Cafe, now boasts a bright and modern interior to feature its new buffet and a la carte menus. Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium recently welcomed new Executive Chef Chua Yew Hock who has enhanced the restaurant’s offerings to include his signature dishes, Mussel Otah-Otah, Curry Laksa, Asam Fish and Chilli Crab.

Overlooking the lobby is the upcoming Atrium Bar 317 scheduled to launch by December 2014. This new venue features an evolving food and beverage concept to keep diners satisfied throughout the day with breakfast, lunch and bar bites. The extensive cocktail menu and wine selection are complemented by musical entertainment in the evenings. This is a place where one “experiences a different character each time of the day - be it to pick up the morning coffee, enjoy a casual lunch, or to wind-down after a long day with a cold glass of beer or wine.

For oriental cuisine, the ever-popular Xin Cuisine Chinese Restaurant continues to bring diners its authentic Cantonese cuisine specially prepared by a team of master chefs. Signature dishes include the Tea-smoked Duck, Mini Abolone Tartlette, Pan-fried Lamb Chop and exquisite dim sum during weekends.

Chef Chua brings over 30 years of experience to lead the hotel’s overall kitchen operations and lend his culinary expertise to conceptualise new menus for the hotel’s restaurants, banquets and events, and to elevate Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium to one of Singapore’s preferred dining venues.

“The makeover is indeed timely for us to offer something new to our loyal guests and to cater to visitors to Singapore, as well as residents here. We are looking forward to a robust season especially with the re-launch of our new all-day dining restaurant, lobby bar and guest bedrooms,” said Anne Johnston, newly appointed General Manager, Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium.

Scottish born Anne is no stranger to Singapore, having been Executive Assistant Manager of Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium for three years from 2008. Her career with the Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has spanned some 14 hotels, three brands and eight countries. Most recently, she was the General Manager of Crowne Plaza Bratislava.

“I am excited to see through the finishing touches of the refurbishment and lead the team to position Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium as one of the preferred hotels in the city,” added Johnston.
