Ao Nang no three in Asia

BANGKOK Thailand’s Ao Nang, in Krabi province, is ranked third in TripAdvisor’s top 10 Asian Destinations on the Rise 2015, but it was outranked by Danang in central Vietnam which took first place in Asia and the world.
Released last week, the rankings highlight 52 spots around the world that have seen the greatest increase in positive feedback and interest from TripAdvisor website users, year-over-year. The ranking does not reflect actual bookings or trips to Krabi.
Ao Nang, the main tourist bay at the coastal province of Krabi, ranked third in Asia and fourth in the world.
Danang in Vietnam top of the list for both Asia and worldwide listings, while Sihanoukville in Cambodia also ranked in second for both lists.
inside no 3The travel website said Ao Nang was “picture-perfect with stretches of gleaming sand, sparkling waters and candy-colored sunsets.”
“Book a snorkel or Scuba tour for some underwater exploration, or just relax on the deck as you cruise between islands on a vintage teak boat. Rock climbers will drool over the limestone crags and cliffs of nearby Rai Leh,” it said.
TripAdvisor’s chief marketing officer, Barbara Messing, said the TripAdvisor community has helped to bring to the surface some unheralded destinations across the globe that are receiving rave reviews from travellers worldwide.
“From the boardwalks of the Jersey Shore to the temples of Vietnam, these award-winners offer highly-rated options for accommodations, restaurants and activities to inspire those planning their vacations for the new year.”
