MOSCOW – Starting from January 2015 Aeroflot is launching its own regular flights on the route Moscow – Samarkand – Moscow. Aeroflot will provide daily flights to Samarkand on comfortable modern Airbus A320 from Sheremetyevo Airport Terminal D in accordance with the following schedule:

SU1874 flight leaves Moscow on Friday at 22:45 and arrives to Samarkand at 04:55; Return SU1875 flight leaves Samarkand on Saturday at 06:25 and arrives to Moscow at 08:50 (local time). Samarkand is the second largest city in Uzbekistan and one of the oldest in the world. The city is a vital tourist center and the largest historical landmark full of ancient traditions. Since 2001 Samarkand has been added to the World Heritage List.

The launch of this new destination fully corresponds with Aeroflot strategy considering the development of transport across CIS countries as one of the priorities. Thus the carrier contributes to the integration processes between Russia and these countries.

Within the Strategy Aeroflot launched flights to Georgia (Tbilisi) and Moldova (Chisinau) in October.

Earlier in March the Carrier has resumed flights to Kazakhstan (Karaganda), eliminating elements of monopoly in the air transportation system to this country. Aeroflot intends to continue development of these destinations in the Central Asia.

Aeroflot expands fleet with two new SSJ-100’s
Aeroflot has taken delivery of its two new FULL specification Sukhoi Superjet 100 produce by the company SCA (Sukhoi Civil Aircraft). Planes have been named in honour of Soviet pilots Mikhail Vodopyanov (registration number RA-89041) and Boris Bugaev (registration number RA-89028).

New Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircrafts have been transferred to Aeroflot under a financial lease from Sberbank Leasing. The aircraft can accommodate 87 passengers in a spacious dual-class configuration (12 seats in business and 75 in economy), and has a flight range of 2,400 km.

The main features of the "Full" specification are an upgraded Flight Management System (FMS) and a weather radar equipped with a wind direction detection function. Moreover, the "Full" spec is providing additional video control cameras, separate lighting and air conditioning controls both for economy and business class and an additional working position for flight attendants. More comfort for the passengers is guaranteed by individual gaspers over each seat. The aircraft is equipped with three lavatories with diaper boards, and each of three-seat-blocks in the cabin has an additional oxygen mask. There are four galleys with larger ovens, and an additional space to install a baby bassinet is added as well.

The SSJ-100 is a next-generation regional jet developed and produced by Sukhoi Company in collaboration with Alenia Aeronautica.

The SSJ-100 received certification from the Aviation Register of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC AR) in January 2011.

New aircraft form part of Aeroflot’s strategy to expand its route network and strengthen its leadership in the domestic air transport market. SSJ-100 jets are an important part of Aeroflot’s fleet, which is among Europe’s most modern and technologically advanced. The total order for SSJ-100 stands at 30 aircraft.
