BETHESDA, MD. and SHANGHAI - Marriott International, Inc. has been certified as one the "Top Employers in China 2015" for the fourth consecutive year by the Top Employers Institute.

The Top Employers Institute recognizes leading organizations around the world that achieve the highest standards of excellence in employee conditions. Top employers are selected by a rigorous evaluation process including an HR Best Practices Survey. This Survey thoroughly assesses the HR environment of an organization from strategy, policy implementation, monitoring and communication of employee conditions to talent development. Only companies that have remarkable performances in all these aspects will be recognized as top employers.

"An optimal human resources environment is crucial to both the personal and professional development of employees of an organization. According to our study, the human resources strategy of Marriott International enables an exceptional work environment for its associates. Its human resources initiatives are very thoughtful and aligned with its corporate culture," said Nicole Jin, Country Manager China of the Top Employers Institute.

"For more than eight decades, Marriott International has strived to foster career growth and development of our associates, opening doors to a world of opportunities for them. Our company has been guided by the motto from our founder Mr. J. Willard Marriott – Take good care of the associates and they'll take good care of the customers, and the customers will return again and again. We have been delivering this promise for years and are pleased that such efforts are being recognized once again in China," said Regan Taikitsadaporn, Chief Human Resources Officer, Asia Pacific of Marriott International.

"The portfolio of Marriott International in China has been expanding rapidly and this momentum is expected to continue in coming years. Our competitive advantage in human resources will be a key facilitator for fueling our growth in this market," added Taikitsadaporn.

Marriott International is expected to grow its distribution from 16 cities in 13 provinces, municipalities and special administrative regions under five brands: Marriott Hotels, JW Marriott, Renaissance, Courtyard, and Marriott Executive Apartments; to more than 58 cities in 26 provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions and special administrative regions in China by 2017 with three additional brands: Bulgari, EDITION, and Autograph. By 2017, Marriott's total workforce is expected to increase to more than 75,000 associates in the continent – almost doubling its current size in the region– with nearly half of this number in China alone.
