Thainess rolls off the press

BANGKOK The Thai government has declared 2015 “Discover Thainess” year with the objective of accelerating the national economic and social development through tourism.
The plan calls on all tourism stakeholders to showcase “Thainess”, or the distinct character of the Thai people and unique culture as Thailand embraces the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) that kicked off 1 January 2015.
The Discover Thainess campaign will be introduced to local media, 7 January, at a briefing led by the Minister of Tourism and Sports.
Her opening remarks will focus on the importance of Thailand geographical location as a centre of ASEAN and the region’s most convenient tourism hub for connectivity while emphasising the kingdom’s so-called unique attribute of “Thainess.”
inside no 6The minister believes the campaign will enhance the reputation of the country as a must-visit tourist destination in ASEAN.
Minister of Tourism and Sports, Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, will use the press conference to officially declare the “2015 Discover Thainess” campaign up and running as well offering details of the Thailand Tourism Festival (TTF) 2015”.
The event scheduled, 7 January, 1500 to 1630, is open to all media and will take place at the Lotus Suite 5 to 7, 22nd Floor, Centara Grand at CentralWorld, Bangkok.
The event will be conducted in both Thai and English.
