Now Travel honours Centara CEO

BANGKOK  Centara Hotels & Resorts CEO, Thirayuth Chirathivat, has once again been recognised by Now Travel Asia Awards as “Asia’s Top Influential Person in the travel business”.
The 2014 Gala Ceremony was held in Bangkok at Pathumwan Princess Hotel, last month. In addition to Mr Chirathivat’s award, Centara properties took the top prizes in two other important categories.
Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin won the honours as “Asia’s Top Heritage Hotel”, while the Centara Grand West Sands Resort & Villas in Phuket was recognised as “Asia’s Top Beach Hotel”.
“If it wasn’t for the hard work and wonderful attitude of the staff at Centara, I would not appear to be doing such a good job,” he commented acknowledging the staff effort that goes into supporting his role as CEO.

Mr Chirathivat has more than 25 years in the hotel management business, starting as an F&B Coordinator at the Hyatt Central Plaza in Bangkok – now the Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao.
Prior to being appointed CEO of Centara Hotels & Resorts, he was senior vice president for project management, directly responsible for overseeing construction and renovation projects for the group.
Now Travel Asia honors hospitality and travel businesses in over 20 categories since it inaugurated the awards in 2012. This year, the awards attracted over 200 leaders in the travel and hospitality industries from around Asia, including representatives from top hotel, spa, airlines, restaurant and entertainment venues.
Centara Hotels & Resorts is Thailand’s leading operator of hotels, with 48 deluxe and first-class properties covering all the major tourist destinations in the Kingdom.
