Myanmar showcases at ATF

SINGAPORE  Industry response for the up-coming ASEAN Tourism Forum has hit a record high with more than 350 TRAVEX (travel exchange) booths contracted and some 550 tour contractors enrolled in the Hosted Buyers Programme.
TRAVEX sellers, attending the 28 to 29 January mart component of the ATF, are suppliers of ASEAN travel and tourism products and services from the 10 member nations of ASEAN – Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Around 8,000 square metres of space has been confirmed by sellers.

“We are delighted to host ATF for the first time in our history,” said Union Minister for the Ministry of Hotels & Tourism, U Htay Aung.
“The benefits for Myanmar, as an emerging tourism destination, are unquestionable. It surely will strengthen the country’s tourism sector development.
“I do believe all ATF participants will gain a great deal of tourism and related opportunities at this juncture.”
Participation from host country Myanmar is at an all-time high according to the chairman of Myanmar Tourism Marketing (MTM), UPhyoe Wai YarZar.
“It is our opportunity to share our country’s rich history and culture with the rest of the world.”
MTM is a non-governmental organisation that functions as the marketing arm of Myanmar Tourism Federation, under the guidance of the Ministry of Hotels & Tourism.
The week-long event will be hosted 22 to 29 January at the Myanmar International Convention Centre (MICC) that covers 60,000 square metres of exhibition and convention centre.
Held in the country’s capital Nay Pyi Taw and hosted by the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism the event is organised by the Myanmar Tourism Federation and managed by MP Singapore and Myanmar Ventures Group.
