BANGKOK  Thailand’s B2B event, Thailand Travel Mart Plus Amazing Gateway to the Greater Mekong Subregion (TTM+) 2015, will take place 3 to 5 June and is now open for early bird registration by buyers and sellers.
Early bird registration was opened in November 2014, without an announcement to the trade, but companies have until 13 February to secure the cheaper registration fee.
Once again the event will be hosted at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani Convention and Exhibition Centre, in the northern suburbs of Bangkok.
Organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) it draws support from the Tourism Council of Thailand, Thai Hotels Association, Association of Thai Travel Agents, Thailand Incentive and Convention Association, Thai Eco Tourism and Adventure Travel Association.
inside no 9.1 Its core selling point is its ability to attract new content, mainly from small to medium-sized enterprises. Smaller operators can also showcase to international buyers without incurring the heavy expense of travelling to a mainstream show overseas such as ITB or WTM.
Around 400 sellers from Thailand join TTM with representation from the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) countries, such as Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia.
TAT will continue to emphasise four major niche-market segments — ecotourism, health and wellness, weddings and honeymoons and opportunities to experience Thainess. All the themes will be presented at a special pavilion.
TAT Governor Thawatchai Arunyik said: “This year’s TTM+ will be an especially important event because of the extensive changes and improvements taking place in the entire regional operating environment.”
“The advent of the ASEAN Economic Community at the end of this year, the growing Asian Highway network, the presence of four bridges across the Mekong River, the opening up of Myanmar, introduction of more low-cost airlines and our own 2015 Discover Thainess campaign are just a few of the factors that should make 2015 a very exciting year for Thai tourism.
“We encourage buyers, especially those with a proven business track record, to take advantage of the TTM+ and establish contacts with the many new products, services and facilities that will be exhibiting. We believe it will help them design creative and value-for-money tour options for many different customer segments.”
