Vientiane goes smoke free

VIENTIANE  Vientiane Administration Office will declare Saysettha Park as another smoke-free park in Vientiane.
Lao News Agency reported that the Smoke Free Park project was launched in 2009 and Chao Anouvong Park was the first to be designated smoke-free in 2012.
The project is part of an effort to clean up the capital city. The campaign slogan is “clean, peaceful, green, charming, civilised, and illuminating”.
Inside no4Other tourist sites such as entertainment venues, restaurants, and hotels in Vientiane capital are supposed to join the smoke free campaign with the aim of creating a clean city environments ahead of the introduction of the ASEAN Economic Community at the end of this year, the report said.
The Vientiane Administration Office and Vientiane Capital Health Department added it would review and discuss the smoke control efforts.
