Tourism boost for Danang

DANANG Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung gave his approval for a proposal to restructure the Danang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to create a dedicated department just for tourism.
According to local media reports, the PM ordered the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to adopt the policy across the country, using Danang as the lead model.
The Ministry of Finance, relevant central government agencies, and Danang People’s Committee will need to achieve the spin off into a separate department for the tourism section.
inside no 4There are plans to develop Danang into one of Vietnam’s largest urban areas serving industry and tourism.
In 2014, Danang received nearly 3.8 million tourists, a 21.9% rise against last year. Of that, 955,000 were foreign tourists, while domestic visitors reached 2.8 million.
This year, the city targets 4.5 million tourists including 1.5 million foreign tourists.
