Korean Air unveils new business class seats

09 Feb 2015  2036 | World Travel News

Korean Air has unveiled its new ‘prestige class’ products, including a new range of flat-bed seats.

The new Prestige Suites in the business class-style cabin recline 180 degrees to form fully-flat beds.

A redesigned armrest automatically slides down when the seat is in ‘bed-mode’, increasing the width of the bed to 22.5 inches (57cm). The pitch between the seats has been increased by 30cm to more than 2.2 metres.

Privacy panels can be raised or lowered, and each seat is also equipped with a chair where passengers can rest their feet or friends can sit. And the configuration of the seats has been designed to allow window seat passengers to move into the aisle without disturbing the aisle seat passenger.

In terms of in-flight entertainment, passengers will be offered 17-inch screens and smartphone-style touchscreen handsets. They will also now be able to view the map and flight information at the same time as watching movies.

The new Prestige Suites will make their debut on Korean Air’s Airbus A330-300 aircraft flying to Guangzhou, Singapore and Hanoi. And all the airline’s new long-haul aircraft, including six A330-300s, 12 Boeing 777-300ERs, 10 B747-8 Intercontinentals and 10 B787-9 Dreamliners, will be delivered with the new seats.
