Cathay Pacific will expand its operations in Europe later this year, with the launch of a new service to Dusseldorf.

Commencing on 1 September 2015, the Hong Kong-based carrier will operate four weekly flights to the German city using its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

Services will depart Hong Kong International Airport every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 0050, arriving in Dusseldorf at 0715. The return flight will then leave at 1320, arriving back into Hong Kong at 0635 the next morning.

“We are very pleased to further expand our European network by launching this new Dusseldorf service, which will help to meet the rising demand for business and leisure travel between Germany and Hong Kong,” said Cathay’s chief executive, Ivan Chu.

“This latest destination launch also underscores Cathay Pacific’s ongoing commitment to building Hong Kong’s position as one of the world’s great international aviation hubs.”

Dusseldorf will become the airline’s second destination in Germany, after Frankfurt. It also continues the expansion of Cathay’s European network, following the launch of flights to Manchester in December 2014 and the new service to Zurich which commences in March 2015.

Tickets for the Dusseldorf route are now open for sale.
