THUA THIEN-HUE The Hue Monuments Conservation Centre has completed a US-funded project worth USD700,000 to restore the facade of the Trieu To Temple in the ancient imperial citadel of Hue in central Thua Thien-Hue province.
According to a local media report, the centre also completed the restoration of three altars sponsored by the US Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation, worth USD30,000 since January 2014.
inside no 4Trieu To temple was built in 1804 to worship the first ancestors of the Nguyen Dynasty, Nguyen Kim and his wife.
It is an important site in the southeast of the Hue Imperial Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Over 200 years of wars and wet climate conditions in Hue have severely damaged the ancient building.
