Thai AirAsia X keeps on expanding

BANGKOK  Thai AirAsia X will launch a daily flight connecting Thailand’s (Don Mueang Airport) to Japan’s Sapporo New Chitose Airport, 1 May.
The airline CEO, Nadda Buranasiri, said the airline has seen rapid growth in travel between Thailand and Japan in just one year.
“This year, we are ready to expand with a new route from Bangkok to Sapporo on Hokkaido Island, which is a dream destination.”
He added: “It is a destination “for all seasons” with highlights throughout the year. Visitors can see blooming Sakura flowers in the spring (April to May), witness the lavender fields in the summer (June to August), watch the trees change color in the fall (September to November) and enjoy skiing during the winter (December to February).”
inside no 2According to Japan National Tourism Organisation, last year 657,600 Thais travelled to Japan, an increase of 45% in 2013.
Half of all the travel was on what its called Group Inclusive Tours (GIT) and the other half were Free Independent Travellers (FIT).
The FIT segment has shown the greatest growth potential, which is in line with Thai AirAsia X’s targets, the CEO said.
From 26 March, the airline will increase its Tokyo and Osaka flights; two daily to Tokyo and one daily to Osaka. Combined with the Bangkok-Sapporo route, Thai AirAsia X will fly four daily flights to Japan, providing over 3,000 seats.
Thai AirAsia X has also joined with Thai AirAsia to offer Fly-Thru service to passengers from Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, Phuket and Krabi.
They can enjoy seamless connections to Japan at Don Mueang Airport, without the need to check-in twice and with their baggage sent directly to their final destination.
Travellers from Japan may also use the Fly-Thru service to connect to provinces of Thailand or even to other countries such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore and Vietnam.

The airline sells the one-way promotional fare on the route starting at THB3,990 on economy class and THB9,990 on business class. Fares include of airport taxes and fees. Booking is available until 15 February to travel during 1 May 2015 to 26 March 2016.
AirAsiaGo also offers promotion package for four-day, three-night stays including a roundtrip plane ticket and accommodation start from THB9,898 per person, based on double occupancy. Hotel deals of up to 50% off are also available on AirAsiaGo (www.airasiago.com) for travel during 1 May to 30 December 2015. Booking is also until 15 February.
