Watson takes new challenge

HO CHI MINH CITY Specialist tour operator Trails of Indochina has named industry veteran, John Watson, as its chief executive officer.
Founder and owner of Trails of Indochina, John Tue Nguyen, said: “I am delighted that John is joining us. His background in general management and sales and marketing in leisure travel, plus his extensive network in the industry, will strengthen our company.”
“Having already worked and lived in many parts of Asia, John will be based in our head office in Ho Chi Minh City. His appointment is with immediate effect.”
Watson commented: “When the CEO role came into view with an iconic company of the quality and reputation of Trails of Indochina I felt I had to pursue it.”

Trails of Indochina is a tour operator specialist, headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam with offices in Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Singapore and Thailand.
Watson headed Diethelm Travel Group for over nine years resigning in October 2013 to “seek one more big challenge before retiring.”
He has been busy in that pursuit ever since, reflected in the numerous projects that have offered a challenge..

A start-up venture, therightlyricsfactory.com, launched in March 2014 that writes songs and compose music for bands. individuals and corporations.
Co-founder of Netzfind in 2014. Based in China, Netzfind has a worldwide team of researchers for hire.
GlobalScot established in March 2012 an internationally recognised business network of global influencers and CEOs with an affinity for Scotland.
He is also a board member of Operation Smile in Thailand, a worldwide children’s medical charity with a network of global volunteers. To date, Operation Smile’s volunteers have treated more than 160,000 children born with cleft lips, cleft palates and facial deformities.
He joined DTG in July 2003 and was credited with restructuring the company and expanding its portfolio to 13 countries in Asia.
