Marriott brings Courtyard to Taj Mahal

Marriott International has expanded its Courtyard brand in India with the launch of its first property in Agra – the home of the Taj Mahal.

Located within walking distance of the world famous mausoleum, the new Courtyard by Marriott Agra offers 189 rooms and 18 suites, plus three F&B outlets, a swimming pool and wellness facilities. The property also features more than 2,700m² of conference and banqueting facilities able to accommodate up to 1,200 guests.

“Agra is a significant tourist and business destination for expats and corporates alike. The Courtyard by Marriott Agra has been launched keeping in mind the needs of such travellers,” said Rajeev Menon, Marriott’s area vice president for South Asia.

“All our properties in India are market leaders in their operative segments, we aim for nothing less with the Courtyard by Marriott Agra as well. This property is also testimony of our vision for the brand Courtyard by Marriott and its standards of excellence,” he added.

The Agra property becomes Marriott’s 12th Courtyard hotel in India. It also means that Marriott is now present in all three major cities in India’s Golden Triangle region: Delhi, Jaipur and Agra.

For Marriott, the opening of the Courtyard by Marriott Agra marks a major milestone, as it becomes the 1,000th Courtyard hotel worldwide.
