BANGKOK Centara Beach Resort & Spa Phu Quoc is the latest Vietnamese property acquired by Centara Hotels & Resorts after a management contract was signed with the owners, Binh Le Xuan Ltd. Companies and Commercial Services.
The four-star resort is Centara’s second property on Phu Quoc Island, and is viewed as a desirable complement to the other properties in Centara’s Vietnamese portfolio.
The group’s vice president of sales and marketing, Chris Bailey, said: “The new resort is a highly desirable acquisition for us, as it has a different style and product focus than our other properties in the region, and so we can expand our appeal to a wider cross-section of the market.”
Centara Beach Resort & Spa Phu Quoc is located on the main coast of Phu Quoc Island, in Vietnam’s Kien Giang Province, a 10-minute drive from Phu Quoc International Airport.

The ceremony took place at M23, Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld.
The resort will have 143 rooms, meeting facilities, an all-day restaurant, swimming pool complete with pool bar, a fitness centre full wireless connectivity throughout the property.
The resort will also contain “Kid’s Club” facilities, and a new Spa Cenvaree, a branch of Centara’s award-winning luxury spa providers.
Vietnam’s largest island, Phu Quoc Island stands in the Gulf of Thailand, just 50 kilometres away from the Vietnamese mainland and a short 50-minute flight from Ho Chi Minh City.
Most of the island is given over to a national park, with a largely undeveloped interior, so while Phu Quoc is becoming known as a beach destination it still retains an untouched air about it.
Centara Beach Resort & Spa Phu Quoc is currently on schedule to open during the third quarter of this year.
Centara Hotels & Resorts is Thailand’s leading operator of hotels, with 49 properties covering all the major tourist destinations in the Kingdom. A further 28 hotels and resorts in Maldives, Mauritius, Vietnam, Bali, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Qatar, Laos, Oman, Turkey and China brings the present total to 77 properties.
