Thailand to improve travel data

Bangkokb  Thailand’s travel related research should take a turn for the better now the Tourism Authority of Thailand has enrolled strategic partners.
TAT’s Intelligence Centre (TATIC) recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism and Sports; the National Statistical Office of Thailand; Kasikorn Research Centre, and the Bank of Thailand.
TAT governor Thawatchai Arunyik said: “This MOU marks a significant step for the TATIC in to create knowledge generation on Thailand’s tourism industry. Under this MOU, TATIC and the four partners will become a very strong platform representing an innovative research-driven module that will help bolster the country’s tourism growth.”
The five partners will adopt knowledge exchange strategy that will gather and share data ontrends and challenges in tourism, both domestic and inbound markets.
inside no 9“This partnership forms part of TAT’s many strategies to help establish and consolidate tourism information to foster innovation, collaboration, competitiveness and sustainable development,” the TAT governor added.
The MOU signing ceremony took place during a seminar “The Big Picture: Thailand Tourism 2015” that saw high-level representatives from TAT and the four strategic partners sharing knowledge on Thailand’s tourism as well as their informed outlooks and trends based on the research-driven approach.
