Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) offers free personalised conference apps

Having recently hosted the G20 Leaders Summit, acclaimed the best ever, BCEC is now turning its focus to delivering new technology solutions for clients - part of a future digital roadmap for the Centre.

A free personalised conference app for clients is the latest new product offering from BCEC.

The free conference app comes with the same wayfinding technology used at the G20 Leaders Summit and is part of a range of initiatives currently in development, designed to enhance delegate experience at meetings and events.

The personalised app comes preloaded with venue content, precinct information and fully integrated venue wayfinding technology. Clients are then able to choose from a selection of powerful event related content and design features.

BCEC’s free conference app was launched at AIME (The Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo) 2015 in Melbourne previous week.

BCEC has worked with Brisbane based company Entegy, to create the free app as part of continuing future investment into venue and event technology.

BCEC first introduced fully integrated venue wayfinding as part of its new app, BCEC Live, to coincide with the hosting of two of the largest conferences on the Centre’s 2014 calendar, the G20 Leaders Summit and the 29th International Horticultural Congress (IHC) in August. This technology developed by Entegy, was then used as the platform for customised venue-wide G20 wayfinding as well as exhibition space wayfinding in the International Media Centre.

General Manager of the AEG Ogden managed BCEC, Bob O’Keeffe said the Centre had always pushed boundaries when it came to innovation and creativity. “Our objective is to provide exceptional and benchmark services for the meetings industry and technology is at the forefront of that strategy.”

Bob O’Keeffe said the new technology had already provoked significant interest from conference organisers and he fully expected it to be a contributing factor in venue selection in the future and a significant point of difference for the Centre.

Entegy Director Graeme Caplen says this is the first step of a technologically advanced future for meetings and events. “This is an exciting partnership and a great opportunity to offer BCEC clients innovative, cost effective and Australian first products that are deeply integrated into the venue.”
