10 Mar 2015  2040 | World Travel News

Thailand's Ministry of Tourism & Sports and The PATA Thailand Chapter are joining forces in this unique, interactive and engaging forum, organized for the first time in Thailand.

This event is an essential input into the strategic planning process of the Ministry of Tourism & Sports with the valuable experience and perspectives of the private sector being sought for the development of the "Tourism Road Map 2020".

According to the Minister of Tourism & Sports, H.E. Mrs Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, the objectives of the overall master planning process focus on: Value Creation, Sustainable Tourism (Balance of Business, Local People, Environment), and Wealth Distribution as well as Local People Development and the Pride of Homeland.

“On behalf of The PATA Thailand Chapter, we are honoured and delighted to take part in the overall planning process for the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. The important event on March 19th will raise issues and insights that will provide essential inputs into the strategic planning process that the Ministry has initiated in producing a roadmap for 2020 and provides all of us with the opportunity to integrate good ideas and visions from tourism stakeholders both within and outside of Thailand. The draft master plan will be completed by March 30 and will then enter a testing phase before the 2020 master plan is officially launched in mid July. We look forward to this master plan providing a clear clear direction for the sustainable development of tourism for the benefit of the people and the Kingdom of Thailand. Please join us and share your thoughts.” stressed Ben Montgomery, Chairwoman of PATA Thailand Chapter.
