Thailand’s Manathai opens resort in Khao Lak

Thailand’s Manathai Hotels & Resorts has launched its first property in the beach resort area of Khao Lak, just north of Phuket.

The new Manathai Khao Lak becomes only the third hotel in Manathai’s portfolio, following the Manathai Hua Hin and Manathai Surin Phuket. A fourth, Manathai Koh Samui, is set to open in the second quarter of 2015.

Located on the beach, overlooking the Andaman Sea, Manathai Khao Lak features 158 rooms, a restaurant, swimming pool, fitness centre, library and complimentary Wi-Fi. There is also a meeting space for up to 30 guests.

Manathai launched at last year’s World Travel Market in London and says it will cater to “travellers who seek authentic experiences” in Thailand.

“Manathai Hotels & Resorts understands that individual travellers, families and couples want to engage with a destination on their own terms,” said the company’s chief operations officer, Christoph Berger. “They crave individuality, choice and authenticity, and that’s what we deliver.”
