Tourism operators from across New South Wales will travel to China this week to promote the Australian state to the Chinese travel trade.
Led by state tourism body Destination NSW, more than 30 tourism operators will take part in the mission, which runs from 22-28 March and will visit the cities of Wuhan and Guangzhou.
“This initiative helps us take advantage of the growing demand from China, with NSW operators showcasing experiences on offer in our state to key Chinese trade partners, increasing their knowledge and awareness of our destinations and products,” said Destination NSW’s CEO, Sandra Chipchase.
“It will also assist NSW suppliers to build and strengthen their relationships with Chinese product managers, and provide opportunities to contract with wholesalers.”
China is NSW’s top inbound visitor market, accounting for more than 443,000 arrivals, 12.1 million visitor nights, and US$1.5 billion in revenues last year.
After the visit to Wuhan and Guangzhou, NSW tourism operators have also been invited to take part in a trip to Guilin.
