Sheraton loses Krabi property to Dusit

BANGKOK  Dusit International announced a deal, earlier this week, with hotel owner MBK Hotel and Resort to reflag the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort to Dusit Thani Krabi Beach Resort.
Speaking at the signing ceremony on Monday, Dusit International’s managing director and CEO, Chanin Donavanik, confirmed the group would take over the management of the property 1 July.
“The resort is a natural fit for the brand and will be a welcome addition to Dusit Thani resort properties in Bangkok, Hua Hin, Pattaya and Phuket,” he said. “Krabi is one of the country’s potential tourist destinations having rapid growth and a top destinations for international tourists.”
MBK Hotel and Resort’s CEO, Suvait Theeravachirakul, said the contract with Sheraton will expire 30 June adding it was a good opportunity for the resort to sign a new contract with Dusit Thani.
Inside no.2The property is located on Klong Muang Beach in Krabi and has 240 rooms, three restaurants, one bar, two beachfront swimming pools, meeting facilities, a spa, a gym, a club lounge and a kid’s club.
It is located a 20-minute drive from Krabi town, 15 minutes from Ao Nang beach and 40 minutes from Krabi International Airport.
Dusit International comprises of four hotel brands: Dusit Thani, dusitD2, Dusit Princess and Dusit Devarana. It also operates Dusit Residences and Devarana Spa.
