Hanoi hikes sleeping pod fee

HANOI  Vietnam Aviation Tourism Corporation is charging higher hourly fees for its sleep pod services at the Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi since Wednesday.
Local media reported the new rate sets the maximum price for a single pod at USD5.8 per hour and USD6 for a double pod.
The previous prices were USD10 for the first three hours for a single room and USD13 for a double room. The prices for another three hours were USD8.7 to USD10.4.
The service provider claimed prices at airports in Russia, the United Kingdom, Singapore, and the United States range from USD10 to about USD30 per hour and none were offering a three-hour fee.
inside no 3The sleeping pod service was launched at Noi Bai Airport, 22 July, last year, but were closed after only three days when the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam suspended operations over a paperwork omission.
Last September, Noi Bai Airport sent a report to the CAAV asking the agency’s permission to resume the service. The CAAV approved the proposal.
The sleep pods are on the 3rd floor of T1 terminal hall. They have a floor area of 4 sqm (2 m by 2 m floor dimensions) and a generous ceiling height of 3 metres. There are 14 sleep pods, consisting of three single rooms and 11 double rooms.
