Niccolo opens in Chengdu

DUBAI  Ultratravel Collection, a joint venture between Travel Leaders Group, Global Hotel Alliance (GHA) and Ultratravel, announced, Wednesday, the launch of a new luxury brand, Niccolo by Marco Polo.
Niccolo Chengdu, China, due to open the end of the month, is the first property under the brand. Branding gives it membership to the Ultratravel Collection and the Global Hotel Alliance loyalty programme.
Niccolo by Marco Polo brands primarily contemporary urban hotels.
The first property Niccolo Chengdu is located within the International Finance Square shopping mall in the centre of town. There is a metro subway stop connected and the hotel is only 25 minutes by car from Chengdu’s international airport.
inside no 8Ultratravel Collection was launched in late 2013 to give hotels access to Global Hotel Alliance’s loyalty programme which has over 5 million members, as well as Travel Leaders Group’s customer base of travellers.
“The opening of Niccolo Chengdu will be an exciting event as it is the first hotel of the new Niccolo brand,” said, general manager Andrew Abram. “Becoming part of Ultratravel Collection is already a statement of Niccolo’s intention to become one of the region’s most pre-eminent luxury brands.”
Other members of Ultratravel Collection include Hotel Adlon Kempinski in Berlin, The Leela Palace in New Delhi, Corinthia Hotel in London, Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, Grace Santorini, Portrait Suites, Rome and the Alila Villas Uluwatu in Bali.
Ultratravel’s founder and chairman, Nick Perry, said: “With access to GHA’s database of over 5 million customers, each of Ultratravel Collection’s member hotels will have incremental revenue opportunities, while sharing a platform with some of the very best hotels in the world.”
The group intends to open three other Niccolo by Marco Polo properties in China in the near future.
