Google expands Vietnamese content

HANOI Google is accelerating the process of making the Vietnamese language more popular in cyberspace to offer language friendly and convenience while surfing the internet.
Google in Vietnam marketing director, Sophie Tran, told Tuoi Tre media that the company will introduce more Vietnamese-language products.
Tran added that Vietnamese was not on a list of the 10 most common languages on the internet, but more online content needs to be on offer in Vietnamese to expand use.
English is reigning language in cyberspace, she said, noting that Vietnamese internet users are asking for more Vietnamese language content.

Most travel sites in Vietnam rely on English content as they are appealing to foreign visitors who need to book travel in the country, but as Vietnam’s outbound travel market grows there will be more demand for content on global travel options in Vietnamese to make the booking process more convenient.
