Thailand is ready to fill Bangkok with a wonderful week of entertainment and innovation

BANGKOK - The Bangkok Entertainment Week is set to fill the Thai capital with four fun and colourful events, which will take place, from 27 April to 3 May, 2015. These are as follows:

Bangkok Comic Con 2015 x Anime Festival Asia Thailand 2015 will be held between 30 April and 3 May at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC). This event is considered the grandest in Asia with top pop cultures from Hollywood and Japan combined in one event.

Bangkok International Digital Content Festival 2015 will take place between 27 April and 3 May at the Centara Grand Hotel at CentralWorld and BITEC. This event is to accommodate the government’s policy to drive the country’s economy forward by promoting Thai entertainment, culture, cartoons, and animation content in the global market.

Thailand Comic Con 2015 will be held from 30 April to 3 May at the Royal Paragon Hall, Siam Paragon. This event is set to boast the most comprehensive contents of pop cultures including movies, animation, dramas, music, games, toys, collectible items, demonstrations from manufacturers and entrepreneurs, and displays of special products.

Thailand Toy Expo 2015 will be held on April 30 to May 3 at the CentralWorld Shopping Centre. During the Expo, more than 70 popular brands of toys and collectible items from the United States, Europe, and Asia will be on display. An exhibition of limited edition toys will be organised.

Mrs. Juthaporn Rerngronasa, Tourism Authority of Thailand’s (TAT) Acting Governor and Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Europe, Africa, Middle East and Americas said, “The Bangkok Entertainment Week is organised through the coordination between the public and private sectors with the objective of promoting the Thai capital as a hub of the entertainment business in ASEAN. The entertainment and digital business of Thailand is growing by leaps and bounds, and this week-long event will certainly help boost the country’s position on the international stage.”

The Bangkok Entertainment Week is jointly hosted by seven public organisations: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ministry of Information, Communication, and Technology; Ministry of Culture; Department of International Trade Promotion; Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT); Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) as well as four private digital content and entertainment industry organisers.
