BANGKOK - Following the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB)’s announcement that it would not allow Thai-based airlines to operate charter flights, apply for any additional flight frequencies, add any new routes to Japan or permit any aircraft type to be changed starting from 29 March 2015, Thai AirAsia X has been working closely with both relevant Thai government agencies and JCAB to resolve the situation as soon as possible.

For the time being, JCAB has allowed AirAsia X (Malaysia) to operate rescue flights between Bangkok (DMK) and Sapporo (CTS) from 1-31 May 2015 to accommodate affected Thai AirAsia X passengers. AirAsia X (Malaysia) will provide the same type of Airbus A330-300 aircraft using the code D7.

The details of the development are as follows:

Sapporo Flight Schedule: Bangkok (DMK) - Sapporo (CTS)
Date:1 - 31 May 2015

Thai AirAsia X passengers with bookings on the Bangkok (DMK) – Sapporo (CTS) route during the mentioned period will be able to travel as scheduled and may proceed to Don Mueang Airport to receive service as per their original bookings. Any developments pertaining to the Bangkok (DMK)- Sapporo (CTS) route will be announced as they are made available.

For passengers who have booked flights on the Bangkok-Sapporo route for travel from 1 June 2015 onward and no longer wish to travel, the airline is fully willing to offer the following options:

1. Move flight to an earlier travel date between 1-31 May 2015 one time at no additional cost, based on seat availability.
2. Change the travel route to an existing Thai AirAsia X destination in Japan (Tokyo Narita or Osaka) one time at no additional cost (XJ flights only) for travel between 1 May 2015 and 31 May 2016, based on seat availability.
3. Transfer cost of flight to a 90 day Credit Shell that may be used for the purchase of goods and services from AirAsia via www.airasia.com (such as flight tickets, pick-a-seat, pre-booking meals, baggage weight, etc.).
4. Receive a full refund via the channel in which payment for the booking was made.

Passengers may access the above options by contacting the AirAsia Call Center in Thailand at Tel. 02-515-9999, in Japan at Tel. 0120-963-516, or online via the E-Form available at http://www.airasia.com/th/en/e-form.page.

Thai AirAsia X affirms that it has adhered to all international flight safety regulations and reiterates that its scheduled flights continue to be unaffected by the situation. Thai AirAsia X will continue to serve the following routes as scheduled: Bangkok (DMK)-Tokyo (NRT) which operates twice daily, Bangkok (DMK)-Osaka (KIX) which operates one time daily, as well as Bangkok(DMK)-Seoul (ICN) which operates one time daily.
