Vietnam Airlines goes wireless

HANOI  Vietnam Airlines is negotiating with Go Go (US) and OnAir (Europe) to supply internet services to upgrade its inflight entertainment.
The airline representative told local media that the two companies are professional suppliers of internet inflight services.
However, to supply a service for passengers during a flight over Vietnam the suppliers need permits from the authorities.
To ensure flight safety, passengers are allowed to turn on their electronic devices once the aircraft reaches 3,000 metres.
inside no 1According to a report, earlier this year, the airline plans to offer inflight Wi-Fi for both international and domestic routes as of this month. It failed to hit that deadline. Now it is saying high-speed Wi-Fi service will be offered on 30 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and Airbus A350s later this year.
The airline flies to 52 destinations in 17 countries, excluding code-share services.
