GVK Lounge by TFS and Performa nominated in the category of Asia's Leading Airport Lounge at World Travel Awards

MUMBAI - The GVK Lounge built and operated by TFS and Performa at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport’s (CSIA) Terminal T2, has been nominated in the category of Asia’s Leading Airport Lounge in the World Travel Awards 2015.

The World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry. Today, the World Travel Awards Brand is recognised globally as the ultimate hallmark of quality, with winners setting the benchmark to which all other aspire. This year, the Awards will celebrate its 22nd anniversary year. The annual program is renowned as the most prestigious and comprehensive in the travel and tourism industry. In 2014, about 650,000 individual votes were cast by travel professionals and high-end tourism consumers. The final winners will be announced on the night of the World Travel Awards Grand Final at the end of the year.

The ‘GVK Lounge’ was inaugurated in November 2014, and is the first ever common Luxury Lounge in the country, unlike other global and Indian airports, which usually have different first/ business class lounges for different airlines. Spread across an area of 30,000 sq. ft. in two levels – Level 4 and 3, the GVK Lounge has a total capacity to accommodate 440 guests at any given point in time. It hosts some of the most innovative facilities and latest technologies in the form of Concierge Services, Smoking Zone, F&B, Bar, Luxury Spa, Shower Area, Relaxation Area, Library and a Business Centre, in keeping with MIAL’s ideology of encouraging product, service and design innovation to complement the overall ambience, design and architecture of the new terminal T2. A sense of Indian grandeur has been instilled in various elements starting from the texture with the use of colours and hues in muted palettes of amber, red, gold have been interwoven to offer a luxurious world class feel to the entire lounge space. Designed by India’s celebrated fashion designer Sandeep Khosla and Mumbai’s highly acclaimed architect Alfaz Miller, ABM, based on a concept by Softroom Architects, UK, the lounge section at Level 4 has a gold theme, while the silver theme flows through Level 3.
