Shangri-La expands in China

BEIJING Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts announced, Thursday, the opening of its latest hotel in China’s historical city of Hefei in Anhul province.
The ancient city was founded as a county seat in the Qin Dynasty around 2,000 years ago and lies between China’s largest river, the Yangtze and the freshwater Chaohu Lake.
The 27-storey Shangri-La hotel, with 401 rooms, is centrally located on Suixi Road and a landmark in the city that is a gateway to the Huangshan Mountain Range — a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
An introductory rate of RMB550, plus 15% service charge, is on sale until 7 October. The opening offer includes accommodation in a deluxe room, dining credit and triple Golden Circle award points for Shangri-La’s Golden Circle members.
inside no 6The hotel is in easy reach of Xinqiao International Airport, Hefei Railway Station or the Hefei South Railway Station, all which are approximately within a half hours’ drive from the hotel. The cities of Nanjing and Shanghai are an hour and three hours away respectively by high-speed train.
Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts currently owns or manages over 90 hotels under the Shangri-La brand with a room inventory of over 38,000.
The group has a substantial development pipeline with upcoming projects in mainland China, Cambodia, India, Myanmar, Philippines, Qatar and Sri Lanka. (PRNewswire).
