Fifty travel hot spots in Singapore

SINGAPFORE If travel agents are running out of places in Singapore to recommend to customers, TripAdvisor says it has lined up 50 iconic spots to choose from.
Singapore is one of the top destinations for travellers from Southeast Asia and many of them are repeat visitors, who travel as families taking advantage of low-cost airline fare bargains.
The travel site is capitalising on the 50 anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Singapore by identifying and showcasing 50 top places and attractions.
It has created what it calls an interactive SG50 Travel Hub that features a list of 50 hot spots based on a tally number of reviews.

The list of 50 attractions includes perennial tourist favourites such as the Gardens by the Bay, Singapore Zoo, Universal Studios Singapore, Merlion Park and the Singapore Botanic Gardens, as well as popular Singaporean neighbourhoods such as Orchard Road, Chinatown, Little India and Clarke Quay.
Other iconic things to do include having the famous Singapore Sling at Long Bar, enjoying local food at Lau Pa Sat Festival Market, understanding Singapore’s history at the Changi Chapel and Museum, shopping any time of the day at Mustafa Centre and visiting the islands of Sentosa or Pulau Ubin.
To complement the list the site is offering special deals and discounts from 20 June to 31 August at six IHG hotels and a selection of Viator tours in Singapore, covering some of the must-see attractions such as Night Safari, Gardens by the Bay, Singapore Zoo, Sentosa Island and Universal Studios Singapore. IHG and Viator are partners in the project.
