Silversea to introduce new luxury cruise ship

Silversea Cruises has unveiled its brand new luxury ship that will enter service in April 2017.

The new Silver Muse is currently being built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy. Once complete, the 40,000-tonne vessel will be able to accommodate 596 passengers. Silversea said it will also feature a “wealth of enhancements to the onboard experience”, although details of the facilities have not yet been released.

“With enhanced design specifications and enriched content, the Silver Muse will continue to build on the sophistication, innovative style and ground-breaking concepts for which Silversea ships are renowned,” said Enzo Visone, Silversea’s CEO.

“This ship contributes to our ambitious growth plans that will ensure our continued leadership in ultra-luxury cruising.”

The addition of the Silver Muse will expand Silversea’s fleet to nine ships, alongside the Silver Cloud, Silver Wind, Silver Shadow, Silver Whisper and Silver Spirit luxury cruise liners, and the Silver Discoverer, Silver Galapagos and Silver Explorer expedition ships.

The most recent new-build ship to join the Silversea fleet was the Silver Spirit, which launched in 2009. This vessel was also built by Fincantieri.

Silversea says that further details of the new ship will be announced “in the near future”.
