THAI starts A380 London service

BANGKOK Thai Airways International celebrated the departure of the first Airbus A380 direct flight from London to Bangkok, 1 July, at Heathrow’s Terminal 2.
In a press statement issued by the airline, 7 July, the airline said passengers who travelled on the Airbus A380 inaugural flight (TG910) from Bangkok to London were greeted at the arrival gate by a group of Beefeaters and Royal Guardsmen.
Those who left on the Airbus A380 inaugural flight TG911 from London to Bangkok were each given a fresh orchid corsage and a commemorative key ring to mark the inaugural.
inside no 6Commenting on the new A380 service, THAI’s general manager, Wit Kitchathorn, said: “This has been a great way to mark the UK’s first direct A380 flights to Bangkok…we are immensely proud of our service and doubly so now that we are the only airline offering A380, nonstop travel between London and Bangkok.”
TG911 departs daily from London Heathrow Terminal 2 at 1230 and arrives at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport at 0545 hours on the following day.
TG910 departs daily from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport at 0110 and arrives at London Heathrow (T2) at 0715.
THAI has been flying to London Heathrow for over 40 years and now offers a single daily nonstop flight.
