2016 China Brewers Cup Competition to take place at HOTELEX Chengdu in August

SHANGHAI - Boil in the pot and dream in the cup, after roasting and grinding, a cup of mellow coffee arouses feelings and recollects love.

The 2016 China Brewers Cup Championship will be held on site of the 2015 HOTELEX Chengdu from August 5-7, 2015.

As one part of the World Coffee Event (WCE), the China Brewers Cup Championship highlights the craft of filter coffee brewing by hand, promoting manual coffee brewing and service excellence.

As a worldwide championship, the World Coffee Event enjoys a certain reputation in the coffee industry due to its high level of professionalism and excellent service. It has become and industry standard for baristas the world over.

Venue: Chengdu Century City International Convention & Exposition Center, Hall 4

Overview
1. The competition is divided into two rounds: Round One, and the Finals Round.
2. Round One consists of two components called Services: the Compulsory Service, and the Open Service.
3. The Finals Round consists of one Open Service presentation per competitor.
4. During each competition Service, competitors will be evaluated by three (3) Judges. Additionally a Head Judge will be present, and may taste the cups served but their assessment will not count towards the final score.
5. During each Service, competitors will prepare and serve three (3) individual and separate beverages, one for each Judge.
6. For each Service, competitors will have five (5) minutes of Setup Time to set up the competition area in preparation for and prior to the Service.
7. During the Compulsory Service competitors will have seven (7) minutes of Competition Time to prepare and serve their Beverages, without any presentation or demonstration. Competitors will be limited to utilizing only the whole bean coffee provided by the Brewers Cup competition.
8. In the Open Service competitors may utilize any Whole Bean Coffee of their choosing and will have 10 minutes of Competition Time to prepare and serve their beverages with an accompanying presentation.
9. All three beverages within each competition service must be prepared using the same whole bean coffee.
10. Competitors may choose to use the same Open Service coffee in both competition rounds, or a different coffee of their choosing without restriction.
11. Competitors may produce as many beverages as they like during their competition time. Only the beverages served to the judges will be evaluated.
