Vietjet pioneers Yangon route

HO CHI MINH CITY  Vietjet Air will launch flights connecting Ho Chi Minh City to Yangon in Myanmar starting 2 October.
The upcoming route will have five flights per week departing HCMC Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a flight time of two hours and 15 minutes.
The flight will depart from Ho Chi Minh City at 1025 and arrive in Yangon at 1210. The return flight will depart from Yangon at 1300 and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 1535. All times are local.
Vietjet vice president, Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, said the new service will connect the two countries’ business and tourism hubs.

Vietnam and Myanmar have in place visa-free travel for up to 14 days for citizens of the two countries, which makes it more convenient for travellers to plan trips.
The new route is Vietjet’s latest international development after it launched services to Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
Services to Seoul in South Korea and Taiwan will interest Myanmar’s business travellers as they can connect with those flights at the airline’s HCMC hub,.
The airline operates a fleet of 25 Airbus A320s and A321s, offering 150 flights daily.
It serves 33 air routes in Vietnam and also flies regionally to cities in Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Cambodia and China.
Since beginning operations three years ago it has carried more than 12.5 million passengers.
