Skal toasts in Krabi

BANGKOK  The newly-launched Skal International Club in Krabi, Thailand, was officially welcomed by the province’s vice-governor, Narong Wonsiv, over the weekend.
He was the principal guest of honour at a reception and dinner to celebrate the launch of Thailand’s seventh Skal club.
The vice-governor said he was confident that the formation of the new Skal club in Krabi would help to boost tourism to the Andaman Sea coastal province.
Skal International Thailand president, Dale Lawrence, shared messages of congratulation from Skal leaders worldwide.

Tim McGuire (president – Skal Chiang Mai); Ivan Berthelot (Skal Krabi VP); Jana Kenton (Skal Krabi secretary); Prapakorn Kaewprom (Skal Krabi treasurer); George Kenton (Skal Krabi president); Dale Lawrence (president – Skal International Thailand); Ingeborg Kristensen (Skal Krabi membership development & public relations) and Mikko Kataja (Skal Krabi VP).
He added that it was a historic occasion for Skal in Thailand and he paid tribute to the “efforts of the local organising committee and Thailand’s international councillor Brinley Waddell”.
Thailand has a long history of involvement with Skal dating back to the formation of the Bangkok club 1956.
It has also hosed the association’s annual congress twice, in Bangkok and Pattaya.
George Kenton, was elected as Skal Krabi’s first president. The Skal Krabi executive committee also comprises of Ivan Berthelot (VP); Mikko Kataja (VP); Jana Kenton (secretary); Prapakorn Kaewprom (treasurer) and Ingeborg Kristensen (membership development & public relations).
