Night swims in Nha Trang

KHANH HOA  Vietnam’s popular Nha Trang beaches will be zoned for night swimming even though there are concerns over safety.
Tuoi Tre News reported TD JSC company has received the green light from local authorities to zone beach for tourists and locals who want to swim at night.
Swimming after 1800 is normally not recommended at beaches across Vietnam for safety reasons, as there are no lifeguards on duty.
The company that made the proposal to the local government said it would install lighting and arrange lifeboats and lifeguards to ensure safety. The zone would be close to hotels.
inside no 4Nha Trang deputy chairman, Le Huy Toan, said: “We will allow the company to go ahead for a trial period.”
“The company must install lights and assign lifeguards to ensure safety for beachgoers,” he said.

The experiment will be conducted close to the 32-34 Tran Phu Hotel which is located on Tran Phu, the main street of the resort, fronting a beach area.
The night beach is admission-free and serves both locals and tourists. It is not clear how the company will generate income to gain a return on its investment in public utilities.
Nha Trang is a coastal city and capital of Khanh Hoa province, on the south central coast of Vietnam.
The city is well-known for its beaches and scuba diving and has developed into a popular destination for international tourists. Vietnamese tourists are its main source of tourism revenue.
