BANGKOK Emirates announced four new weekly flights between Phuket and Dubai to commence 1 December.
Representing a capacity increase of 57% on the Phuket-Dubai route, the four new flights will also improve connection options for Phuket’s travel trade to exploit. Connecting times between flights from cities in the Americas and key destinations in Europe and the Middle East will be shorter at the airline’s Dubai hub.
“Since the launch in 2012 Phuket has been a solid success story. The fact that we are now adding a further four weekly flights highlights not only the desirability of the destination but also the demand for passengers wishing to travel with Emirates,” said Emirates’ executive vice president and chief commercial officer Thierry Antinori.inside no 6 Jabr Al-AzeebyJabr Al-Azeeby

Area manager for Thailand and Indochina, Jabr Al-Azeeby, said: “Phuket is one of Thailand’s premier holiday destinations and is a key gateway to many other islands in the region. Not only are these additional flights great news for holiday markets but also important to support travel and tourist companies which see great value in the direct flights to Phuket.”
“The additional flights will make it even more convenient for residents in the southern part of Thailand to connect to Dubai and the rest of the world,” Jabr added.
Emirates will operate the new weekly flights with a Boeing 777-300ER, offering eight seats in First Class, 42 seats in Business Class and 310 Economy Class seats. Passengers also have the added bonus of a generous baggage allowance with 30 kilogrammes for those travelling in Economy Class, 40 kg for Business Class and 50 kg for First Class.
EK396 will depart Dubai at 2255 and arrive at Phuket International Airport at 0800 the following day. This flight connects seamlessly with European and Middle Eastern destinations, and will improve connections to destinations such as Istanbul and Cairo.
The return flight, EK397 will depart Phuket at 0930 and arrives in Dubai the same day at 1320.
The recently announced codeshare agreement between Bangkok Airways added 19 routes across a number of Southeast Asian cities, adding a total of 14 new destinations to the Emirates global network and seamlessly connecting customers to new tourist destinations.
