Discover Thai culinary delights at the Amazing Tastes of Thailand 2015 in Phuket

BANGKOK - The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) cordially invites local and international tourists to discover Thai culinary delights at the Amazing Tastes of Thailand festival from 19-20 September, 2015 on Thalang Road and the Dragon Square, Phuket.

The event is organised as part of TAT’s 2015 Discover Thainess campaign, which is aimed at making “Thainess” a globally recognised brand by encouraging tourists to experience the distinct entity and characteristic of the Thai people and the nation’s cultural assets, including food, arts, and way of life.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor said, “The Amazing Tastes of Thailand is to showcase Thai food that is known and loved all over the world for its fiery rich flavour combinations, unique cooking styles and age-old methods of preserving foods, as well as the use of exotic herbs and spices to enrich the flavours and offer nutrition.”

The Amazing Tastes of Thailand 2015 will feature a number of entertaining and informative activities, including the classic culinary battle of the Iron Chef Thailand, cooking shows by Thai pop stars and celebrities, and Thai cooking workshops by a world-famous cooking school. Also, there will be a fun Thai cooking completion for foreigners judged by leading food experts.

As its namesakes, tourists and visitors will get the chance to taste signature dishes from across the country in traditional Thai settings in seven zones, including Chinatown (Yaowarat) on the Beach, Northern Street Food, Mekong Riverside Delicacies, and Amazing Phuket Food.

The Thai Exotic Zone will highlight innovative presentation of Thai food decoration by the master food stylist and food columnist, Duang-rithi Claewplodtook.

The festival will also stage a mini concert by the stars of popular television shows The Voice and Academy Fantasia. Cultural performances will be available at the 4 regions zone stage.

The two-day event is from 16.00-23.00 hrs. Entry is free.
