BANGKOK Royal Orchid Holidays will organise a Buddhist tour, 21 to 25 October, from Bangkok to Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Thai Airways International’s in-house tour operator says the package is for customers interested in prayer, meditation, and listening to the sermons of the renowned Buddhist monk, Phra Maha Vudhijaya Vajiramedhi (V. Vajiramedhi).
THAI’s marketing development and customer services department, vice president, Busaba Sangawibha, said the Buddhist meditation tour extends for five days and three nights.
The tour is open to 80 to 100 participants and will be conducted in Thai language. No official English language commentary will be available.
On the return trip the airline will transport a sapling of the Holy Bodhi Tree, which comes from the original tree (Bodhgaya, India), under which the Lord Buddha achieved enlightenment. The sapling’s final destination is the Vimuttayalaya Institute in Chiang Rai, Thailand.
