TOKYO Vietjet signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance Company Limited (MUL) to finance the leasing of new aircraft, earlier this week, in Tokyo.
The MoU will pave the way for MUL to finance Vietjet’s acquisition of three new A321 aircraft, worth USD347.2 million, according to the manufacturer’s listed price.
These three aircraft are part of a contract, signed earlier, between Vietjet and European aircraft manufacturer Airbus to purchase or lease 107 aircraft over 10 years.
Nh?n l?i m?i c?a Th? tu?ng Nh?t B?n Shinzo Abe, T?ng Bí thu BanVietjet will receive from 10 to 12 new aircraft annually to fulfill the contract with Airbus. The airline has so far taken delivery of just eight A321s and A320s.
Vietjet serves 33 routes in Vietnam and across the region to international destinations such as Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, China and Myanmar.
It has carried more than 13 million passengers to date.
